A Little About me…

l to r - Bob Tobin, me & Jeep White.
I’m a 30+ year veteran of the music industry, multi-instrumentalist and have traveled coast to coast bringing my unique style of playing to a wide variety of audiences. I’ve performed at Bluegrass and Country music festivals all over the United States including the prestigious Boston Folk Festival. My career includes an 11 year stint with the nationally acclaimed group Southern Rail, over 25 years with South Carolina Heritage artist Roger Bellow, performances and recordings with country star David Ball, country music veterans Don Helms (who played with Hank Williams Sr.) and Gordon Terry, Jimmy Buchanan, Melba Montgomery, and others. I’m an award winning mandolinist and have been called “A wizard of the mandolin” by Virginia Public Radio. My recent collaboration, River Boy, with several other Charleston area musicians, has already been featured on North Carolina Public Radio and has gotten rave reviews. I can be seen regularly on my standing gig Tuesdays at Dunleavy’s Pub on Sullivan’s Island with “Bob Sachs and Friends.” Music starts at 7:30.

When Carroll couldn't make the Tuesday night gig, Walter Biffle started filling in. Here's Walter sitting in on guitar. The group with Walter is now an offshoot of Tuesday nights. We play that formation as The Beebos. Most often seen lately at the Pour House on James Island.
You can also send me an email to be included on my weekly email list of what’s happening.
