Hello Friends,
That time of the week and there’s news!! Tuesday nights are starting back in a slightly different form. Beginning tomorrow night Bob Sachs & Friends will be at Dunleavy’s Tuesdays at 7:30. The differences you will notice are, first, we will be a duo primarily, and second, the 2nd person will change between several folks. I’ll be announcing in these weekly emails who will be there so stay tuned. As a side note on that, I’m honing my chops on guitar so expect to see me play more of that. I’ll be bringing the mandolin, of course, and I’ll be singing more, sometimes much more! This is a totally new thing for me so I’ll be growing along the way. Really looking forward to it!! Hope you’ll join the fun. I see it as a chance to watch a sideman of 30 years turn into a lead singer. I’m sure I’ll bump around a bit as I get started, but I also believe that it will be fun and successful.
So here’s the week…..
Monday night 8pm Home Team BBQ West Ashley – Songwriter’s Night. Not positive I’ll get there, but definitely leaning that way. Bunch of great writers there well worth seeing. Depending on the night each person does 2 or 3 songs and then it’s time for the next one. Lots of variety!
Tuesday 7:30pm Dunleavy’s Pub, Sullivan’s Island. First of the Bob Sachs & Friends duos this week featuring my dear friend Roger Bellow. We’ve been performing together for 25 years now and always have fun! Dunleavy’s is an institution and I’m proud to be part of it. We’ll be playing a mix of bluegrassy, vintage country with a little slightly newer country thrown in and perhaps even a bit of swing.
Thursday 6-9pm The Pour House, Maybank Highway James Island. The Beebo’s (Walter Biffle, Gary Hewitt & yours truly) on the deck. We played there a couple weeks back and had a great response. Wonderful place to hang out. Semi bluegrass flavor with a mix of bluegrass, western swing and some acoustic rock.
Friday 7-11pm Coconut Joe’s, Isle of Palms. Blue Plantation Band (Allen Thompson, Aaron Gdovicak, me and I believe it’s John Kennedy on bass this time) Bluegrass and swing music with some Irish thrown in. We’re on the upper deck with a great view of the beach!!! Awesome sunset too!!!
Saturday is private (sorry)
Hope to see you out and around. As always, thanks for supporting live music!!!
Thanks,
